Secrets of the Navy SEALs & SWCC
The US Naval Special Warfare Command -- home of the SEALs and the Special Warfare Combatant Craft commands -- is one of America's legendary covert combat organizations. Like the Army's Rangers and Green Berets, the SEALs and their brothers in SWCC have extremely dangerous and challenging missions.
While we won't be telling any official NSW secrets on this site, there are many aspects of the "community" that are not well-known. These unofficial secrets -- with the approval of my friends in NSW -- are presented here.
SEAL Team 5 during train-up for deployment
The first secret is that there is more to Naval Special Warfare than just the SEAL teams. Behind the teams, and often conducting dangerous missions by themselves, are the Special Warfare Combatant Craft units -- the "Special Boats" guys who own and operate the Mk 5s and big RIBs and who endure training nearly as difficult as BUD/S.
